Money

Money is a means of exchange, but practically it often is an illusion of power the way we handle it politically. It is something man made after all, and it has no heart or soul of its own. Therefore soberly taken it is a means of exchange, not an end of exchange.

Vedic reference

Vedically it is called asat, or something not true or temporary. The illusion of power and control therewith is called mâyâ: the deluding capacity of the material world. The Gîtâ says 4.18: If you consider working for a result as unemployment and devotional activities as employment, you may consider yourself intelligent in human affairs; it is then that you, with all the sorts of activities you're engaged in, are connected. Money is the result that one is after in one's karma. Karma in the end is profit minded work. But the purpose of filognosy is not to build karma. Building dharma is the purpose: we go for the divine vision.

Exception

There is an exception to the notion of money as being an illusory agent. When monks positive about the discipline of yoga collect donations, they call it LakshmIi?, to the hindu goddess ruling wealth. Practically that means that living on the dole (viz. collecting a donation by means of governmental support for socially adaptive behavior) is the best way to deal with this illusion of materially controling the world with money. Volutarism, or that labor which one performs without an expectation of return, is our normal state of service. Working for the money as being the purpose and definition of wealth is considered materialistic corruption. So we don't make money (which is counterfeit after all), but earn money by properly adapting to the demans of the human cause.

Filognostic importance

The direction of filognosy concerning money is: do not go beyond necessity with it (Occam's rule) and always put people before the money. To be salaried means one is entangled in the web of ulterior motives. One may escape from this by changing one's vison and thus head for a better type of a reinforcement system. Practically that means that one should donate all the money one has, but not really needs, to the filognostic cause of a better world. A radical person might simply burn it to get rid of it once and for all, but that is not the wisest strategy. The purpose is to handle it ideally until it is obsolete. It is and stays after all just a means and not more. In the end do the saints nor the aliens carry wallets, not will they ask you for money, nor will they give it to you reinforcing you for adapting to their societies (o honorable member of the Galactic Order). What else would we want in respect of money but a society that, just like with the SciFi?-series Star Trek, runs without it free from illusion?

Practically managing money: a filognostic economy

Money is best managed
by law and government

Money is best handled by the government collecting taxes where there is too much of it, and distributing it there where there is too little. Thus are there, in principle, no angry, hungry, diseased, homeless, mad people and no wars but rather the normal wealth and security for all without a guilt complex. This we are very well are capable of provided the correct individual, social, spiritual, scientific and political discipline. War and poverty is the fall-down of the economy. A government failing this way because of corrupt individuals with an ulterior motive, we call a bad or corrupt government. Money filognostically, for as long as it is around, is considered the blood in the body of society. Good economy is nothing but a healthy circulation of money in society providing, to necessity, for all cells (or households) in the society. The problem with distributing it is the philosophy of reinforcement. Reinforcing with the money one must have a humane vision for reinforcing humanity in the first place. But people in politics making capitalistic, fundamentalistic, socialistic and egotistical demands (see also the fields of action) make for a bad behavioral science defying the human rights and destroying the faith, confidence and humanity we need to live happily in peace together. Society is not just ruled by economy and law, but also by behavioral science and other sciences. The filognostic ideal in the end is to have a moneyless society based on faith and trust, which is only possible with a proper, mature philosophy of self-control like yoga. Therefore filognosy proposes for a comprehensive human vision that sets the condition of the filognostic vow: truthfully and faithfully we swear to share and care. Thus we expect, work for and hope to have a righteous and wealthy society based on reinforcing the human values we confess to with this vow for the sake of a good relation to the nature of our planet.

Donations

Since ignorant people are not that far evolved yet, do they necessitate and require also the use of money. For that reason we still need money leading a filognosic life, and thus it is best to organize one's own dole-system so to say, more or less the way monks vowed to be saintly with the poverty of the spirit settle for their order. Therefore one may contribute with donations to the cause of filognosy. This must be done thus in the sense of providing Lakshmî for the ones of filognostic devotion, for without the religious notion coming first in this, it would be cheating with an ulterior motive. Religion in filognosy is not considered an infantile, out-dated and immature strategy of controlling people with myths about a guy called God, the Pophet or the Lord, but rather an historical cultural fundament of human values that, after all, lead to the more mature comprehension and politics of the present day integrity of all sciences including the one of theology. Filognosy for that matter is a behaviorally responsible (a time and conditioning conscious) christian adaptation of the philosophy and practice of yoga. Therefore is one advised to donate to the association working in favor of this: the reform-minded, progressive devotees serving you as a believer with faith in the integrity of true wealth and opulence, with the Bhagavad Gîtâ and the Srîmad Bhâgavatam as the scriptural, ego-less authority of sacrifice for this on the internet. These people will, led by the traditional disciplic succession that founded this respect, with gratitude and service take care of the proper reinforcement of living and serving on the foundation of the dole as it should be.
